Mengatasi Permasalahan Synthesis Gas Purifier akibat Fouling oleh Migrasi Debu Molecular Sieve Dryer (109-DA)

Abstract

PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (PSP) was established in 1959 as the first fertilizer company in Indonesia. The latest and the biggest capacity plant in PSP is Pusri-IIB that adopting the KBR Purifier technology for the Ammonia Plant and Toyo ACES 21 for the Urea Plant. Purifier technology using dryer in the upstream of purifier to remove moisture contain in synthesis gas. When desiccant is replaced, we should expect a little bit of dust. However, after the replacement of the molecular sieve, an upnormal condition occurred due to the large amount of dust carried from the dryer. The excessive dust blocked the filter and dirty the heat exchanger in the purifier. The problem can be identified from the decreasing operating conditions in the purifier. To overcome this problem, special treatment/method is needed to remove dust and water in the purifier. After the repair, the purifier performance back to normal and the plant was able to operate at an optimum rate of 105%.
