PELATIHAN PEMBUATAN PUPUK KOMPOS

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Kompos adalah hasil penguraian partial atau tidak lengkap dari campuran bahan-bahan organik yang dapat dipercepat secara artifisial oleh populasi berbagai macam mikroba dalam kondisi lingkungan yang hangat, lembap, aerobik atau anaerobik. Penggunaan kompos sangat baik untuk tanah dan tanaman sehingga penggunaannya dapat menggemburkan tanah yang tandus, meningkatkan porositas, aerasi, dan komposisi mikroorganisme di dalam tanah. Agar dapat dimanfaatkan secara optimal, pembuatan pupuk kompos ada beberapa hal yang perlu menjadi perhatian. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah berupa pelatihan pembuatan kompos dilakukan di Pondok Pesantren Ar-Rahman Plaju. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menambah kemampuan dan pengetahuan warga pondok yang sebagian besar adalah remaja, sehingga bisa memanfaatkan sampah-sampah organik yang terdapat disekitar pondok. Selain itu dengan diberikan pelatihan ini juga diharapkan dapat menambah income para santri, dari hasil penjualan pupuk kompos yang mereka hasilkan.

ABSTRACT: Compost is the result of partial or incomplete decomposition of a mixture of organic materials that can be accelerated artificially by populations of various microbes under warm, humid, aerobic or anaerobic environmental conditions. The use of compost is very good for soil and plants so that its use can loosen barren soil, increase porosity, aeration, and the composition of microorganisms in the soil. In order to be used optimally, compost making there are several things that need attention. The result of this dedication was in the form of composting training conducted at the Ar-Rahman Plaju Islamic Boarding School. This service aims to increase the abilities and knowledge of the residents of the cottage, who are mostly teenagers, so that they can take advantage of the organic waste found around the cottage. Apart from that, this training is also expected to increase the income of the students, from the sales of the compost they produce.
