Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Melalui Penyediaan Air Bersih Dan Pengelolaan Sampah (Penerapan 6R) Dalam Mewujudkan Restorasi Sungai Tawar Dikelurahan 29 Ilir Kota Palembang

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Kota Palembang yang dijuluki kota air karena dibelah oleh Sungai Musi, dimana pemukiman masyarakat menempati tepian sungai-sungai. Salah satu tepian sungai, dimana pemukiman masyarakatnya padat dan permasalahan air dan sampah adalah Sungai Tawar yang berlokasi di kelurahan 29 Ilir Palembang. Pemberdayaan masyarakat ditepian sungai tawar belum berjalan efektif untuk merubah perilaku dan kesadaran hidup bersih dan membuang sampah ke sungai-sungai. Tujuan pengabdian produktif yang ditawarkan dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam penyediaan air bersih dan pengelolaan sampah harus dimulai dengan pendekatan preventif dan persutif, yaitu melakukan sosialisasi, penyuluhan dan pemberian contoh berupa pembuatan teknologi/alat sederhana yang langsung dipraktekkan dan diinstalasi serta dibagikan kepada masyarakat. Teknologi sederhana penjernih air (traditional water purefier) yang dirancang dan dibuat adalah untuk menyaring air kotor menjadi air bersih. Disamping itu potensi sampah menjadi pemicu dan penyebab utama air kotor dan penyebaran penyakit menular melalui air, diperlukan pengelolaan sampah dan pemberdayaan masyarakat agar mempunyai rasa peduli dan mulai merubah kesadaran dan perilaku agar sampah tidak dibuang sembarang tempat khususnya dibuang ke sungai. Untuk memberikan contoh efektif dibuat tempat pembuangan sampah sederhana (organik dan an organik) dibagikan ke masyarakat dan diletakkan kantor lurah dan beberapa tempat dalam lokasi kelurahan 29 ilir Palembang. Dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian produktif ini disambut antusias masyarakat dan kelurahan 29 ilir dan ketua-ketua RT menyambut baik kegiatan ini, mereka berharap tahun mendatang dapat ditingkatkan lagi sinergitas antara kelurahan dan tim pengebdian Unsri. Diharapkan dengan kegiatan pengabdian produktif sangat membantu masyarakat agar memahami pentingnya air bersih dan hidup bersih untuk kesehatan, karena air penting untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari. Hal lain kegiatan ini dapat memberikan wawasan dan pemahaman agar tidak membuang sampah sembarang tempat atau ke sungai. Kegiatan pengebdian produktif dapat memberikan masukan dan membantu program Pemerintah Kota Palembang dalam merestorasi sungai-sungai yang bermuara ke Sungai agar rapi, indah dan sehat.

ABSTRACT: The city of Palembang which is nicknamed the city of water because it is divided by the Musi River, where community settlements occupy the banks of the rivers. One of the banks of the river, where the settlements are densely populated and the problem of water and waste is Sungai Tawar which is located in the 29 Ilir village of Palembang. Community empowerment on the banks of the freshwater river has not been effective in changing behavior and awareness of clean living and throwing garbage into rivers. The purpose of productive service offered in community empowerment in the provision of clean water and waste management must begin with a preventive and persuasive approach, namely conducting socialization, counseling and providing examples in the form of making simple technology/tools that are immediately practiced and installed and distributed to the community. The simple technology of water purifier (traditional water purifier) ​​that is designed and made is to filter dirty water into clean water. Besides that, the potential for waste to be a trigger and the main cause of dirty water and the spread of infectious diseases through water, it is necessary to manage waste and empower the community to have a sense of care and begin to change awareness and behavior so that waste is not thrown anywhere, especially thrown into rivers. To provide an effective example, a simple waste disposal site (organic and inorganic) was created to be distributed to the community and the village head office and several places in the kelurahan 29 ilir Palembang location were placed. In the implementation of this productive service, the community and the 29 ilir sub-districts were enthusiastically welcomed and the RT heads welcomed this activity, they hoped that next year the synergy between the kelurahan and the Unsri service team could be increased. It is hoped that productive service activities will really help the community to understand the importance of clean water and clean living for health, because water is important for daily needs. Another thing this activity can provide insight and understanding so as not to throw garbage anywhere or into the river. Productive service activities can provide input and assist the Palembang City Government's program in restoring rivers that empty into the river so that they are neat, beautiful and healthy.
