Abstract

ABSTRACT :Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a plantation commodity that plays an important role for the Indonesian economy as a significant contributor to non-oil and gas foreign exchange. The palm oil products are used for cooking oil, industrial oil, fuel, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. The increase and increase in the area of ​​oil palm plantations accompanied by an increase in the number of processing industries causes the amount of waste generated is increasing. This is due to the increasing weight of palm oil mill waste (PKS) that must be disposed of. Waste generated from the palm oil processing process will have a negative impact on the environment, both the quantity of natural resources, the quality of natural resources, and the environment. The research activities carried out included all technical aspects in the field and managerial aspects both in the garden and in the office, observing special aspects in the field and data collection activities. Data was collected by direct (primary) and indirect (secondary) methods. JJK application method in TSE with mulching technique which is applied between four trees for one point on mature plants (TM). From the research, it is found that the by-product produced by the FFB processing is used for organic fertilizer which is applied to the land. The number of JJK received by TSE is 17,667.42 tons/year and the area of ​​land applied by JJK in 2011/2012 is 461.3 ha (about 15.82% of the total area of ​​TSE).

ABSTRAK : Kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) merupakan komoditas perkebunan yang memegang peranan penting bagi perekonomian Indonesia sebagai salah satu penyumbang devisa  non-migas yang  cukup besar. Produk minyak  kelapa sawit tersebut digunakan untuk industri penghasil minyak goreng, minyak industri, bahan  bakar, industri kosmetik dan farmasi. Pertambahan dan peningkatan areal pertanaman kelapa sawit diiringi pertambahan jumlah industri pengolahannya menyebabkan  jumlah limbah yang dihasilkan semakin banyak  pula. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh bobot limbah pabrik kelapa sawit (PKS) yang harus dibuang semakin bertambah. Limbah yang dihasilkan dari proses pengolahan kelapa sawit akan menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan, baik kuantitas sumber daya alam, kualitas sumber daya alam, maupun lingkungan hidup. Kegiatan penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi seluruh kegiatan aspek teknis di lapangan dan aspek manajerial baik di kebun maupun di kantor, melakukanpengamatan terhadap aspek khusus di lapangan serta kegiatan pengumpulan data. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode langsung (primer) dan  tidak langsung (sekunder). Metode aplikasi JJK di TSE dengan teknik  mulching yang diaplikasikan diantara empat pokok untuk satu titik pada tanaman menghasilkan (TM). Dari penelitan didapat bahwa Produk sampingan (by product) yang dihasilkan  proses pengolahan TBS dimanfaatkan untuk  pupuk organik yang diaplikasikan ke  lahan.  Jumlah JJK yang diterima TSE sebanyak 17.667.42 ton/tahun dan luas  lahan yang  diaplikasikan JJK pada tahun 2011/2012 yaitu 461.3 ha (sekitar 15.82 % dari luas total TSE).
