Concern in Digital Geological Mapping and Stratigraphic Measurement Methods

Abstract

Shifting from conventional based geological mapping to digital geological mapping involves the basic geological knowledge behind them. The advances of technology, enhance the quality of the data that can be collected from field work and reduce the hours of work to organize and integrate the field measurement data, photos, and the tranverse map from the conventional mapping. Also, the limitation of stratigraphic measurement data in certain geological mapping area due to dense vegetation, obscured outcrop, and flat relief topography can be resolved by using composite profiles method. This article is noted to discuss the uses of digital geological mapping method and composite profiles method in millennial geological mapping.
