Konsepsi Tata Letak Candi Candi Muaro Takus
Abstract
Penemuan reruntuhan bangunan candi umumnya ditemukan oleh bangsa colonial, baik itu Belanda maupun Inggris, pada abad ke 19 dan abad ke 20 dengan bentuk hampir sudah tidak utuh lagi sehingga sangat sulit mengidentifikasi dan menjamin kebenaran bentuk arsitektur setelah direnovasi. Hasil pemugaran yang dilakukan arkeolog khususnya percandian di Sumatera umumnya hanya sebatas bagian kaki candi atau fundamen saja, akan tetapi sudah terlihat jelas tata letak dan orientasi bangunan candi sehingga hal ini memberi petunjuk dan dasar yang kuat di dalam penafsiran tata letak dan orientasi candi di Sumatera. Di dalam penelitian ini peneliti mengambil kasus percandian di Sumatera meliputi Candi Bumiayu, Candi Muaro Jambi, dan Candi Muaro Takus. Metode penelitian dipilih adalah studi lapangan dan studi kepustakaan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penemuan penting di dalam penelitian ini adalah konfigurasi Candi Muaro Takus sebagai replika gugusan gunung di bukit barisan sebelah Barat dan Barat Daya Candi, sedangkan pada kasus Situs Muaro Jambi ruang natah atau halaman tengah. Kajian mengenai tata spasial ini sangat penting dilakukan karena terkait dengan bagaimana zonasi dan orientasi serta pengelompokan bangunan pada gugusan candi di Sumatera.
